Phantoms
(by R. Carrier, Friday 13th Zine)

One of the good things to have changed in music over the last few years is that bands from countries other than Germany, and USA, UK and Scandinavia are proving that they can compete. Sear Bliss come from Hungary, and they've made a jolly good record..., mixing Doom with Black Metal and Folk (like In the Woods for instance.)

Sear Bliss serve up 8 tracks of heavy stuff, not quite on a par with Ancient but certainly a cut above a lot of shit out there at the moment. Fans of Bathory may well like this CD as old Quorthon is definitely an influence indeed. "1100 Years Ago" starts with the huge pounding style of "Blood Fire Death" ear Bathory before speeding up before the trumpets break. Yes you did read that correctly, and it's a lot betten than you probably imagine. This band is original in parts and deserve your support more than the 100 million bands that are trying to be Morbid Angel.
